Hey guys,

Used to be a verizon user and all our friends have cingular so we jumped ship. My question is this, I got the sony ericson w810i and my wife got the LG cu500..

Almost immediately we told them to disable internet / text messaging because we didn't want any surprises. I called today to add on text messaging they told me that because its all bundled you have to enable the internet again then in order to have text messaging. Even though on my cingular.com I can disable internet but not sure if it will mess up my text messaging?

Anyways my question is this on my Sony phone I can delete the media.net account and now everytime I hit anything that goes to the internet it says data account not found please create one.. perfect..

On the LG though it won't let me do this, it is all locked out. Anyone know if a way to change that? I just found out about the secret menu that lets you change from 3g to 2g but is there anyway that I can also delete or change the data account so that its unusable? I just don't want a big bill if my wife messes up and hits it by mistake.

Also anyone know that if this is true, you have to have internet on to use text messaging? The tech on the phone claims that the reason is because of IM and Picture messaging, they require the internet and theres no way to just say you only want text messaging.. But I thought maybe she be lieing
