Can you power on a vx6000 with a charger cable but not battery?

The battery contact broke off of my vx6000. Is it possible to power the phone on using a car charger cable? I just want to pull my contacts off the phone.

I believe it's not possible. My brother had a 6000 and he tried to do the same thing, it wouldn't work. Good luck though!

Thanks for the info. I didn't want to waste the money on a charger to try it out. Do you know if there is any other way to get my contacts off the phone, or am I SOL?

You won't be able to actually use the phone, but using a USB charging cable will get it to a state that's goog enough to retrieve contacts etc from it using bitpim.

So far all I have been able to find for this phone is a USB data cable with no mention of charging capabilities. Will the data cable work if just trying to extract info into bitpim?

It will work, but it obviously needs to have charging capability.

I've personaly purchased cables for this seller and the 6100 cable will work on the 6000.

I believe your provider should be able to retrieve your contacts using a machine they have. I had a water-damaged phone a while back (it decided to go swimming with me) and I took it to Verizon and got a new phone. They were able to transfer my contacts. Good luck though.

My VX6000 wouldn't work on battery power today. I hooked up the car charger and it says the battery is fully charged. I pulled the battery and the phone will still power up using the car charger. I didn't try to make a call though. I hope it's just the battery. If youturn the battery over there is a little pink dot at the bottom of the battery. I never noticed that before. Does anyone know what that dot is?

on a 6100, you can do what you asked. no battery is required. but hell either way, if you need numbers and called them using your cell phone. just look at the detailed bill on the website. won't give you names with the numbers but will give you the other information

Hola,
You can get a very inexpensive Battery for your LG VX6000 Phone at www.emaxwireless.com and then your phone will power up. If it is just a charging data cables you need then www.rpiwireless.com and I think www.datapilot.com has them. Not sure if the www.datapilot.com ones charge. bye..
