I am switching over to a 700p from a Q. I use the hell out of the auto complete (finishes the word) function when typing. does the 700p have this function? I searched to no avail.

You may be looking for more that word complete in your Web browser? I was and I tried a program from my Palm Zire called "TextPlus". TextPlus presents a listing of all possible words from its dictionary as you type. When you see the correct word (usually after you enter 3 or 4 characters) you scroll to the word and hit enter. Textplus completes the word. It worked in calendar and contacts, however, I've had so many software problems on my Treo700P that I've removed all non-Treo applications is the hopes that I can continue to use this piece of crap called the Treo700P. the Q is not a tool it's a toy & it's real slow with WM 5.0 Browsing is tough without a touchscreen. etc.

The only time i would need the auto-complete is while text messaging or emails. it must be a function of WM 5.0.

sort of what i'm looking for. but not having to select a word in a drop down menu though. it will complete the word you are typing. if it's not the word you are typing just hit the next letter. if it is you just push on forward.

maybe people know of an after market program that will do this.

anyone?

Treo's are notorious for not having 3rd party programs "properly" work on them. I'm fine with that. Some folks are not. I call it working within a certain parameter & living with it. Other than Ringo I haven't added any extra programs...I know better than that...and you know what? It doesn't crash or reset like the 650. The built in auto-complete feature works for me & the 700p is not a piece of crap. Hey, I bought Zlauncher for my Clie years ago, works great on a Clie but not a Treo. Oh well...I still get to sleep @ night.
