Blackjack - POP3 email received but no notification

So I've had my Blackjack for a while and have been using Good / Goodlink for a while and it works great. Decided to give POP3 email a shot and I got it set up just fine. I can send and receive with no problems. I'm assuming that I should be getting notifications when I get new email and I'm not (have it set to look every 15 minutes). I can go into Messaging and it shows the number of new emails next to the account there but I'm expecting them to show up on my home page. Is it because I'm running Good with my work email? I get notifications just fine there and when txt or mms come I get those notifications without any problems.
