V3m - Games

Hi all. Newbie questions. I have been searching the forms, however there seems to be so many people that have tried many different things, it seems hard to follow what works and what doesnt on the different phones.

I have a RAZR V3m, I can connect to P2K Tools, P2K Commander, and MotoMidMan. I want to find out what game files (.jar, ,jad, or other?) I need? I have many .jad files for games already, and tried to put them in the same folder as I found other games on the phone, however the phone did not recognize the added files/games. Where do these need to be installed on the phone?

Also, does anyone know if there is a post for skins dedicated to the V3m? I found 2 listings on the MotoX forums. I know many of the members here seem to be members there, so maybe someone here can also advise.. They have 2 collections listed; the first collection does not state what phones will work with any of the skins listed, and the second collection states it is dedicated "For non standard skins such as RAZR V3x, KRZR K1, RIZR Z3, etc.,"

Which of these categories do I need to download skins from?

Thanks in advance for the support. This site has been extremely helpful thus far.

First of all there are GSM phones and CDMA phones.
Alltel happens to be a CDMA phone. Java apps can not be put on an Alltel phone because they use Brew apps. So in short No Java games on the Alltel V3m.

Next for skinning with skins You have to find converted skins for the V3c/m. Do not try to skin with out knowing what phone its for. Most skins you find are for GSM phones and will not work on a CDMA phone.

Try www.darklodge.com for a decent list of V3c skins that will work on your V3m. Just use some caution because some just don't work right at all.

I do have Alltel. Does that mean I cant put games on my phone? Of any kind? I would assume someone has found a way around this? Or no?

The only way to put a game on a Alltel phone is to buy it from their online shop.

Hmm, well doesnt that suck. Thanks for the info though. I have been reading / trying to figure that out for about a week now. Glad to get some clarification.

If I were to purchase games I wanted. Can you transfer any of the game files to other phones? Or would each user (ie. my fiance and I) both have to pay to download them seperately? I know I saw some files for the trial version of MiniGolf in one of the folders on the phone. Curious if I downloaded full versions of a game, are there files that could be transferred to other phones?

Thanks for all the previous info, you have saved me from losing my hair :-D

Nope....All Brew Apps are locked to that phone. I believe they use a vendor code or something similar to lock it in.
