Do you believe in a jinxed car? I'm starting to..

My aunt and uncle have an '01 Sentra in a dark teal color -- really nice shade. They bought it in '02 with about 10K miles and it was a good price. They've had it for maybe 4.5 years and within that time, they've been rear-ended twice [one really major, it bordered on the car being totaled] and just today an old lady in a Golf was merging into my aunt's lane and merged right into her!! All totally not her fault, not even remotely. Today she was driving in her lane minding her own business when that lady merged into her.

Luckily they hit mirror to mirror (what are the chances? They're both very lucky) so that's where the damage was to both cars. The mirror needs to be replaced but the recurring theme here is that especially in everyday driving.. It's as if no one sees them for some reason. One night we went out to dinner, my aunt drove, and all night cars were changing lanes when we were right next to them, or coming out of driveways right in front of us. Thing is - this happens *all* the time.

Sounds silly but really.. She's never had this many accidents in 20-30 years and now 3 people have hit her in the 4.5 years they've had the car. The car is small and it's a dark color so it's already harder to see (especially at night obviously) but even in broad daylight like today's accident.

Believe in jinxed cars? She's debating whether or not to get a different car but she's really going to be on the losing end. The car has depreciated, it's still in good shape [no reason to get rid of it, they just put about $750 into it for routine maintenance], and it has a major accident so it'll lower its resale value. She's dreading car payments but people just really can't see the car - it's crazy.

Sounds stupid but there must be something about the car..there are much smaller cars on the road with darker colors like black. My cousin had a black Accord (older smaller one) for a long time and she was perfectly fine.

Ha ha ha. Yeah man, this is all within the past 2 years or so. 3 months is really crazy though! What kind of car did your buddy have and what did he end up doing with it? I'm sure you could sell it to a friend but c'mon, wouldn't you feel bad?!
