What is the class of the DASH BT radio?

I had my dash downstairs and went upstairs (more than 30 feet away) to try my headset with my wife's new phone. When I activated my headset I hear my own voice from my phone downstairs because I accidentally started my voice dialing program. That makes me think that it is a class 1 (300 feet) radio. Is that correct???

I am guessing that it is class 1 because I just got the Nextlink Spider headphones which are class 1 and it says they only get the 300ft range when used with another class 1 device and I was at least 60 feet from my DASH and the music still sounded great.....

In spite of what you are experiencing, its a class 2 Bluetooth device and is supposed to have a range of 30 feet (10 meters).

I'm not saying you're wrong, but where did you get the information that it is class 2? I can't find anything on the web about it? Can you give me a link? Either way, the range is impressive if it is class 2. All my previous phones would lose the link well before 30 ft.

The only reason I readily knew that answer is that it had come up in a discussion either here or another forum. Its probably buried as I tried to find it. You are right when you point out that it is not usually listed in the specs. When I get a little more time later, I'll look again.

Are there any phones that have class 1? I can't recall seeing any. Phonescoop doesnt list the class, but if you look in the glossary, it says most are class 2.

Ive had earpieces work more then 30 feet a couple of times, usually in an open area, but it can also penetrate walls so that may have something to do with it.

john is correct. it's a class 2 device (it's in the excalibur manual).

ironically, the razr is a class 1 device.

More accurately stated, John is correct because he probably learned the Excalibur was a class 2 device from you!
