8525 Issues - Are these common or is my phone defective?

Hi all -
I've had the 8525 for a few days now and am generally happy - but have been frustrated by a few functional problems. I just wanted to get an idea as to whether these are known issues, or if its possible my phone is defective. If the latter, I want to try to get a new one sent over.

These have all happened when the running programs list was minimal - maybe 2 or 3 most of the core programs running:

- Pressing the messaging button changes the header and footer but body stays on today screen
- scroll wheel stops controlling volume during a call and goes right to email
- scroll wheel sometimes doesn't scroll anymore - button push works, but not scrolling. putting the phone to sleep and waking up again seems to fix it
- when opening an email, get stuck switching between email and email list - can't get back to today screen
- when making a call, call got connected but couldn't hear anything
- sluggishness when using the browser. I sometimes have a full signal but pages stop loading in the middle with a message that the connection was lost.

Thanks,
W

Sounds as if a hard reset is in order... these are all abnormal behavior for any Pocket PC.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm considering just requesting a new device since I've only had this one for a few days. If its a hardware issue then the hard reset wouldn't do anything.

But if it's not, and it fixes it, then you've saved yourself a small headache. :P

Give it a shot, and if it doesn't work, then return it for a different one.

And for the record, no, none of those things are normal.

Aye, try the hard reset, do not install software, see how it goes.

I have the same problem about the messaging button. Hard reset didn't fix it. Also, my browser sucks too, but then I tried Opera and it's like night and day. Don't know why there would be such a difference in speed but it's outrageous. But yeah, it still loses the connection for no reason sometimes.
