I'll invite her to our meet LOL =P I'm friends with some of the staff at that store she works at. The first time I saw her was because I brought my 920SH to show the staff after many requests =P Then the girl and I had some nice chats, and showed me her white 903SH =) Good taste!

lol. the beauty of it is ive just treated it like a normal phone without meticulously taking care of it like the 903sh and ive only gotten those hairline scratches. 904sh is built tough. ex. ill open the 904sh with one hand but ill open the 903sh with two . also ive been using the 904sh almost everyday since i got the simhack

I did that and I had scratches, or at least marks on the screen. -_-

So you are with Rogers too? What SIM do you have for it? I have read those SIM hacks with P905i don't work with Rogers. I guess I should wait for the DoCoMo P905i SIM hack?

but you are able to declare your own value when you buy from fromjapan.com, what did you put?

Never had customs issues, I am shocked US isnt so heavy on it, even on the name of homeland security

Just my old PSS-SIM for Sharp from pss-sim.com....doesn't work at all. The P905i doesn't detect a SIM at all.

just a heads up, official softbank batteries for 904SH have started appearing on yahoo auction now. I was asking about this before. I think they started selling them in stores, none of the boxes have vodafone branding.


-so have you guys used 904sh in the subway yet? did it experience permenant signal loss if no signal for an extended period of time like the SH905, I keep wondering about that. Unfortunately I can't test it myself so I have to keep asking, my $40 next sim still has not arrived from america...

tunnels shouldn't be a problem with the 904sh, i go through 2 everyday when i take the train to work and i get reception as soon as i'm out though i'm surprised the odd time my phone rings while i'm inside granville station (tunnel), and when i'm talking on the phone until i reach the eastbound platform (lowest of the two).. i've noticed that jap phones can hold on to reception quite well it was the same with my 903sh..

how long is it OUT of reception for, when you take the subway? I think fatal loss with SH905 occurs if there is no signal for around 30 minutes. Then you have to peel the sim hack off and stick it in a different phone what a hassle.

any problems while driving on the highway? That was another thing, going at high speed SH905 will lose signal as well. I'll make sure I test all these things when I get my card.

I've yet to use any of these newer sharps but in your opinions, are they (904sh, 920sh, sh905i etc) significant step ups from the 903sh? In terms of the more "casual user" features such as camera, texting, reception, screen, build quality and battery life? I'm debating whether I should buy another 903sh, since I loved it SOOO much, or buy one of these newer phones. None of them seem more appealing to me in terms of looks etc, but if their features are significant step ups then I might look into it. Thanks!

Camera is a definate step down from 903SH.

Texting showed no change.

Reception.. people have experienced signal out problems while others did not.. so

Screen is a definate step up.

Build quality improved in my opinion.

I can't speak for battery life because everyone uses their phone differently, so it's really hard to say. It's hard to compare 903SH and 920SH because I used the camera frequently on the 903SH, while all I can do on the 920SH is talk and text.

I'll have to say that texting does change if you're coming from a T9-equipped 903SH; Jap-style texting is really annoying.

Reception is better, I find.

Build quality depends on the handset. While the 920SH is a nice tight package, the materials used are not as tough as they were on the 903SH or the 904SH, the latter of which is a tank, albeit one that scratches easily.

Battery life's better than the 903SH, but not by much. This is my opinion of both the 904 and the 920.

904sh feels like an updated 903sh, but at the same time much more friendlier to use, ui improvements over the little things

i am not sure if I have an out issue or not, ocasionally I get "out" in my room, but I am leaning towards my room being horrible on 1900 gsm, as I get the same OUT on 903sh and other 1900 phones

Well I prefer the 904sh over the 903sh overall except the camera is a minor downgrade. The customizable themes is a plus and the new text style is annoying but I can adjust fine. I prefer the 904sh over the 903sh in terms of the software. But in terms of the hardware I prefer the 903sh. The feel I get from holding the 904sh doesn't give me this feeling of....uh je ne sais quoi. lol Especially since the 904sh is a finger magnet lol my god. The battery life depends on the user but it is also 900mah so I would assume it would be similar to the 903sh. The VGA screen totally beats the 903sh so no comment there XD

Now with regards for the out problem I have yet to experience a "out" problem. But then again I haven't taken the subway or gone on the high way for awhile. (I don't drive) But I have a 3 hour lecture on Thursdays and my lecture hall has a significant amount of interference and there is no signal on my cellphone (this applies to all my phones whether it be a quad/triband from fido/rogers/import) and it connects just fine the moment I leave my lecture hall. It takes about a minute or less to establish a connection again by itself.

Strangely enough my friend and his blue 904sh + a next sim suffers the from the "Out" problem, and he's in the same 3hr class as me. But he can reconnect by simply restarting his cell phone.

Had that out issue also for a day or two then it just stopped appearing and I never since then have experienced the problem, replaced my sim once I think and after that it works flawlessly. In terms of phones I sooo prefer the 904 over the 903 Got the PSS sim btw...

BTW anyone tried using higher capacity mini sd cards on their 904sh?

I'm currently using a transcend 2gig mini SD that used to be on my 903sh.

I know some people claim the phone has a limit but it seems to differ depending on the mini sd model.

A lot of people claimed a 903sh has a 1 gig mini sd limit but my 2gig worked fine on it >_>

I don't know actually since I've never used video recording. Pictures, music w/e everything else works fine, that I know. I'll check it out later. I don't feel like pulling my hypersim off and plucking it back on the 904sh after checking. I'll do it the next time I decide to use my 903sh

I failed trying to paint my 902sh too. so i got a new housing, and the reception acts whacko afterwards too.

no problem with playing videos taken by toshiba 902t beyond 4second on my PC, it might get stuck if you upload to youtube as it is, so i tend to convert them first to mpg before uploading.

the 912sh that i played with was a "demo version", meaning that the phone function was disabled at first place

that's the news headlines/ weather report, u can set that to a number of services. only works in japan

hutchison-3 has a similar service on LG's 3G phones outside Japan

I guess people would have to try it out and see! But it's 3G only. And even if you got it working on a 3G network, you would only be able to call/sms like the 920SH.

It probably isn't, I've only heard of those SIM hacks working with Softbank Sharp phones that have global roaming enabled (ie have a network selector). 904SH and 920SH count under that rule; 921SH doesn't.

Well, I must say that is an honor coming into Howard forums and looking at everyone that has a love for phones like I do lol!!!! I been collecting shoes for
years, but not phones. I got into phones when one of my friend came back from Taiwan with a SX833 AKA 903SH, from that point on I was hooked. I must say this is the best phone I ever had. Sharp Phones are my favorites. I Got about like 4 903SH units and I just picked these up.......

705sh from England (ahaha like 15 dollars shipped to me in the USA)

903sh Black (my second unit the other one is brand new, this one is a little scratched but I could not passed it up for the price.....




now my big question..........Who got some Sharp or Vodafone straps to sell me o_o

I have too much phones now and the 904sh is only a minor upgrade from a 903sh in my opinion so I decided to sell it away (already made a deal)

I want the extra cash anyways >_> I plan on going on a shopping spree once I go to HK in the summer lol or if that gets canceled I'll go on a shopping spree online -_-''

I decided to keep the 903sh because it has sentimental values as my first JDM keitai....plus I like how it looks compared to the 904sh. That and I know I won't get much for selling my 903sh even though its mint condition (rarely remove it out of pouch and silicone case)

So yea......I decided I'd sell it and I already made a deal with someone and they will be getting it in a few days.


PS. I'm surprised you didn't comment about the Smexy PINKNESS! lol

well prior the release of p905s, I liked the 903. It was the 903 that got me hooked into the Jap phones trend. I'm not sure about now, but before I've seen people on ebay willing to pay up to 600 dollars for that phone but that was about a year ago or so.

well I think the pink case fits in quite nicely lol it matches although it gets annoying sometimes (thick)

interesting... the p905i is my 3rd keitai. My first was Nokia 3220 I got for $0 w/ 3 yr contract with rogers LOL... I still have it.. although it's somewhat broken (the flashing light rubbers are falling off). For Japanese phones, this is my very first keitai so I'm very excited and I hope to keep it in good condition. W810i was my second and well.. I managed to improved on keeping the w810 in better condition, but still.... not the best This is trial #3 *crosses fingers*

well I'm not a shoe addict, but I do care about my shoes. I like Converse a lot right now cause it's stylish and it doesn't cost too much (it's fairly cheap actually unless you buy it from designer brands). I know APES cause my hairstylist wears APES clothes and shoes and I just think they're pretty cool.

It's nice to have a friend in JP so you can get w/e you want. I was looking at P705iu and I'm just in love with it (although I have no more cash to burn). For a phone with 2 MP camera and such a sexy body, with only 9.8mm thickness, it's simply, amazing.

Thanks for the gorgeous wallpaper, but does anyone know what is the maximum size if I want to crop it to make it fit into my Toshiba 904T phone? I've already tried to crop the original images several times and even cropped it precisely the same with the wallpaper that being used in the phone image which posted on the previous page, but still no avail and it keeps saying "image size is too big" everytime I selected it as my main wallpaper. Where do you live by the way and can you fully use those phone features in your country? because from what I know, you need HyperSIM Nex which made by Taiwan to unlock those phones but it still unstable and sometimes the signal can gone wrong/dissapears, so it's kinda on and off all the time. This kind of thing happened to my friend who resides in Aussie now and it pissed him off. I am in USA and I don't dare to buy those phones unless the unlock system is already stable.

I live in Toronto. Basically, if you have the right SIM card for the right SIM hack, a bunch of these phones are fairly stable. It was annoying at first but it goes away.

Too bad Riel doesn't have P905i... I need more info on P905i cause it's still not very stable even with my Next v6. I can say it's 95% stable (at least I can get 1 bar of signal) but sometimes it just goes up and down and occasionally a minute of out can occur depending on the environment. So I'm hoping for a better sim. =/

PS: I'd love to buy a SH905i too but I can't afford it

i personally hated the performance on the sh905i.. lol
the reception wasn't good, camera sucked, and the menus were harder to go through than the F/P that i've used

Maybe its due to the operating systems being different. The SH is on symbian while the N is on Linux... right?

The N-series run on Symbian too. I guess N95's slower because it's a smartphone. I noticed the slight lag too that is nonexistant in the SH.

It's just this clip I bought a while ago. It's actually matte white, but the flash / lighting made it look pretty cool. I sold one of those to hippoondrugs at the meet.

not a sharp but this is the only place to post keitai and we have seen alot of different makers so far. my latest acquisition (albeit a bit late) my 705px



i REALLY like this phone overall. slim and simple.

note: the strap was only given out in very limited quantities at CES 08 to promote their viera line. (i would've tried to get another had i known they'd be so rare )
