Cannot find Live Update

Greetings all,
well from everything I've read so far on here I've been able to install Mobile Phone Tools ver 3.11h.
In order to have this program speak to my Jet k18 I've also read in numerous posts that I need to run the Live Update.
My problem is that I don't seem to have Live Update. Did I obtain the wrong program? I followed clues and links left by folks discussing this very 'phone yet my menu > setup only shows general setup and 'phone setup (which I can't do of course since I can't update to the latest version which includes the drivers).
I do have the K18 listed under my modems in control panel but MPT connects to it and then says it cannot recognize it.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
