Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew a solution to this problem or if this was just meant to be

I've added mp3 ringtones to my phone using the usb cable and then going to "folder options" and then "view all hidden files and folders" and then putting the mp3 files into the ringtune folder. (got the info from here

Anyhoo...when someone calls me on my phone and it's a person that's in my contact list.. it just plays the generic LG "Ring 1" but when a unknown or a person not in my contact list calls me, then the mp3 ringtone plays...
I've set both the "general" and "loud" settings so that the ringtone should play a mp3 song..(settings>set ring tune>mp3>) but it just doesn't seem to work... or is it suppose to be like this??

Any input would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

Have you put your contact list people in a group like Friends or Family? If you did, if people from those groups call you, then it can be a different ring tone.
To fix this, go to the Menu, Contacts (8), Caller Groups (3)
Pick a caller group, then pick group ring tone and set it to the one you'd like.
