Getting Ringtones OFF 8100 w/BitPim?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have some ringtones on my old 8100 - it's not activated - that I want to get off there to put on my 8300. I do have BitPim and a data cable. The software version on my 8100 is v07, and on the 8300 is v03.

I read somewhere the v07 on 8100 will not let you pull ringtones off the phone's directory w/BitPim. I tried, and found that to be correct. I really want the same ringers on my 8300. They are campy old tv theme songs, and I can find them elsewhere to send to my 8300, but cannot find any that are anywhere near the quality I had.

Can anyone help?

I have been told that my local VZW corporate store might be able to do this. They did move the ringers for me in the past, when I upgraded to the 8300. The tech is off today and no one there could answer the question for me. Can anyone here help? Is there a way I can get those off the 8100 myself? Could the VZW store do it?

Thanks.

ya vzw corp store might be able to do it. they have a device called cellebrite were they can hook the phones together and transfer over data. Sometimes ringtones can be picked up and pictures/videos. it will cost you about 10 bucks for them to move the data over. are sure u couldnt do it will bitpim? i have v07 on my 8100 and i can do it. are u going in the system tree to get the ringtones off the phone?

you need another program, you need to unlock that directory/folder

before using bitpim or qpst to copy the ringers to your PC

I think you need LGdownload ( which we are not supposed to discuss , its not share ware ) to unlock that folder , then you minimize that window and start bitpim , and use bitpim to copy your ringers,

there was another thread on this recently
