I dont think the search will find what im looking for inparticular, ive looked everywhere. Okay so I just got a Motorola H700 bluetooth head set (from ebay, yes it is a fake unfortunately the seller mislead me, aswell as many others i have found), and registered it to my razr. At first the mic worked well and it was picking up my voice pretty good. I tried the next day and the Mic wasnt picking up my voice at all, does anyone know why? I have to hold it less than a inch away from my mouth for it to pick up on my voice. I have been told that they can barely hear me on the other end when talking in a normal voice. Is the Headset defective or is there something im doing wrong? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

The headset is most likely defective. I have several genuine h700 headsets and have never had the problem you are describing. Fake products generally have a higher failure rate than genuine products.

The headset is 100% defectiv. This is one of the well known issues with the countereit versions. There is no way to fix it.

i just got a h700 through craigslist. it came in a Cingular-branded packaging. it pairs to my Mpx220, but I cannot hear through the speaker.

it's wierd. i can hear the beeps when the volume is turned up all the way, but no ringing or talking. i've done several test calls, and the other person can hear me --> i just can't hear them.

do these headsets have issues w/certain phones? i don't think this is a fake headset - if it is, it's a REALLY good fake.

The fake are good enough to fool some Motorola employees. I have seen a few and they ARE that good.

How can you tell if its fake? I bought one on ebay as well and was just curious.

Motorola's site is a good place to start:

If you bought a headset of ebay, chances are pretty high that it is fake. There are a few different things that you can look for in most cases to help determine if the headset is fake or genuine. I will have to dig up the thread that talks about this.

Thank you Neb, I would appreciate it.

You always get what you pay for. You try to save a buck and end up spending more because aftermarket stuff sucks and you need to buy another one anyway. I learned my lesson the hard way. It just isn't worth it in the end.
