K800i Housing Removal/Replacement Instructions Needed

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi all, bought a new original k800i housing for my phone and i've removed most of the parts from the front of the old housing, but i can't work out how to remove the earpiece speaker, small grill or the 2 small buttons from the front.

Anybody know where to find a guide on this?? Searched all over and can only find 'replacing the screen'.

Any advice would be most appreciated as i'm having to use my Bluetooth headset and phone with no housing at the mo!

Already looked at your post.

I need to know how to remove the earpiece speaker, small grill and the 2 small buttons from the front. Check this post to see which parts i mean http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...hlight=Earpiece Look at the 3rd and 5th pic at the bottom.

having had mine apart, it looks like the way to get the top buttons and grill off is
to remove the metal part of the front housing. it appaers to be retained by tabs (3
down each side, 2 in the keypad area and 1 right near the top.)

Don't you just grab it with your fingers and pull towards yourself?

Correct glorfingal, once you have the front removed you need to split the metal edge casing away from the housing so that you can get the small grill and 2 buttons at the top of the phone.

I did this by using a very small screwdriver to gently pry apart the 3 small tabs down either side of the housing and then the metal part comes away. The first 1 on each side of are the hardest, just be gentle and no damge should occur. Can mail pics if anyone needs them.
