I have the V3 and am able to upgrade in June. Here's my problem. Although the battery was never great it recently went really down hill. Like a 6 min full charge. The one day the screen went out. I replaced the battery with a friend of mines razor. After a full night the screen was back on and doing ok. Then one morning I opened it and it said insert sim, so I power cycled it and the screen hasn't been back since. I can still receive and make calls, just no screen which is horrible. The hinge is also broken on one side. No warranty, no insurance. I read that the flex cable may be disconnected or broken. I have never opened a cell phone before and this is the only phone i have.Should I attempt to open it? My contract runs out in September I think.Any other ideas please fire away. Thanks for any help. And I tried blowing the battery Thai lol and it didn't help.

Yeah, definately sounds like the flex cable is the problem. You can take it apart but is a bit time consuming. You will also need a new keypad flex cable for this is the cable that is giving you problems.

anyone know where I can purchase a keypad flex cable?

Keep in mind of what I had said above... Aside from the lcd, everything else has to be taken apart. It's the keypad flex cable, key word being "keypad". If you have never done it before, I suggest taking it to your qualified local dealer.
