well...

after my gps unit (mioc310) was delayed till today for pickup, with no one contacting me from staples, i got it today.

so the day i got it, i get a ticket. i guess it was the excitement of getting something like this, as ive never even played wiht one. i basically turned the wrong way on a one way street... stupid eh? i guess i relied on the gps unit to much, though i am somewhat disappointed it doesnt tell u if the street is one way or not...

i explained to the cop the situation and here i am with a ticket worth 3 demerit points. man im pissed off and saddened that technology and my brain has failed me. im thikning of just selling the damn thing/ getting a refund so i can pay for the court fee's.

very disappointing day indeed

ontop of this im not sure what to do. i already have a ticket being fought by some traffic ticket person, what if he losses and i give him this case? wont he just lose this one too? should i give it to him or give it to someone else? damn my head hurts.

why not try to explain your situation to the judge but he might just tell you that you should have been paying attention to the road.

as for the guy losing this case, i dont think it would have anything to do with the other case. each case is different so he may have an easier time with this one as opposed to the other case. if you don't fell he can help you out, then go to someone else.

had something similar, my gf was driving and i was talking to her, i look at the light and see that its red. im like kami stop over and over. she blew the light and went onto a one way street. i got her to pull into a parking lot right after the light. right as we pulled in, a cop pulled out of the alley. got so lucky.

Dude, GPS units don't always show where the one way streets or show them in such small detail to make them useful. Technology didn't fail you, just your over realiance on technology to get you where you want to go. Even with my GPS unit installed I'm always mindful of street layouts and if I'm unfamilar with street layouts I look around at see how other drivers proceed.

I only use my GPS unit to calculate distance/time from A to B since my brain isn't that fast for such calculations and to some extent for the map. In certain situations I've had to ignore my GPS unit and somehow use an alternate route to my destination.
