Hey everyone
I own a Pantech PG8000 < --- yes I know its old.. so last year

So I was wondering if anyone can give me some good direction or even help me out to the point! xD
I have the PC SYNC software installed and I'm stuck... because this software ONLY allows me to access the
-PIMS
-SMS
-Image Gallery
-Sound Galery
how do I upload the java files? >< Help please!
Thanks!

I've been trying to figure this out for my pg3600 since I want to put opera mini on it. I using the file browser but no luck. I'll try to find something out since I want to know how to do this too, especially since the opera mini site says the pg3500 is supported and mine is the same only a slider, and the pg8000 has similar UI/features.

I was using the pantech sync software, after I connected with the usb, I chose either photos, pim, etc there is an icon that will open the phone browser, though its a bit combersome and slow file transfer

OMG you helped me heaps!!
I'm very grateful for your direction haha
This is what I did
Pantech PC SYNC Software
--> Connect the phone
--> theres PIMs/SMS/Image gallery/Sound gallery for me
--> I went to Image gallery
--> clicked on the File Browser icon
--> a prompt then came up
--> look for the java folder
--> transfered the files into it
I hope this also helps you.. if it didn't you helped me! ;D
Goodluck with it!

did they work on your pantech? I transfered mine into the java/install folder and it shows being used into memory, but I am not sure where to run them, I tried from the games folder and did not see any of the java programs listed

just an update: "thesuperburrito" helped me figure out how to get java to work.
Here are the steps:
1)you need to download JADmaker from the net (softpedia.com works nice), with it you make a jad file from the jar file you want to install...
2)next, install both files in the phone, directory java/install (use the pcSync software with the phone brower option in Images)
3)next go to multimedia-->java and you'll see the usual java games... just click in "option" and you'll see an option named "install", when you choose that then you'll see all the jad files installed, choose one and install...
4)you should see the file in your java list next time you go into tha menu, some files didn't worked correctly
---------
I guess what caused the problems before was not having the jad and jar files when using pc sync(different from the nokias in my experience). But right now it works, I put sonic on, but it got stuck loading, but a version of tetris works and I need to put operamini on my pantech along with BT explorer.

So, after finally figuring this thing out... I've been trying to install different games to check which ones work.
Didn't worked:
King Kong
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Mission Impossible III (it starts, but doesn't go beyond the start screen)
Siberian Strike
(and some other gameloft games which I don't remember)
Worked:
Opera Mini
Castelvania
It seems that the simpler java games are the ones working on the phone, but I still need to make further tests...
I'll keep you posted if something new shows up...
btw, everything is being tested on a Pantech PG-6200 (the fingerprint one)
