I just got off the phone with cingular and they told me this phone has a software issue that wont allow it to be used as a modem. Is this true? If not, anyone know what i need to do with it to use it as a modem? Any help appreciated.

You can teather your 8525 to your computer to use as a modem but it is different than many phones. Usually you would use the Cingular Connection Manager software, but the Windows devices don't work with that. I pasted a link below that gives you step by step instructions how to connect it to the computer to use as a modem. Basically you have to turn Activesync off and then go into your network connections and configure it as a dial-up modem. The website will give you much more detailed instructions. Hope this helps!

I tried looking at that page on Cingular's website, however, the page is down. But I did find how to set it up as a modem on another site. Here's the link...

It shows using an MPX220 but the theory is the same. I've set it up using a Sony Ericsson z520a and it worked. Hope this help.
