Can anyone say which phones they chose in order to download the correct cab file for the treo 750 as it is not listed as a supported phone on skype web site

I'd give the HTC TyTN a try. Please report if/once you do.

I've installed that one twice and I lose all internet when I do. Every version of Skype I try has a different problem.

Keep all CAB's on your storage card and uninstall Skype and install the one that fails on the feature you don't need at the time, every time. *LOL* Just kidding!

Hey that's a great idea. Well there was one version that allowed me to text chat...but I don't really use skype for that anymore. I only used that when I was in Iraq. Now I am interested in it for making international phone calls only.

Well I am giving the one for the tytN another shot....looks like it might be working. I will let you know in the future...maybe i can't make quality calls with it.

I would go through the trouble of downloading and installing it if at least domestic calls were free, but they aren't anymore, so, since I don't make international calls and don't have friends on Skype, Skype to me is useless. Unless I need to drain the battery quickly someday. Just install Skype, keep it connected and voilá!

my llimited understanding is that Mobile Skype requires "CPU: 195Mhz OMAP, 312Mhz Intel or 400Mhz Samsung" according to http://support.skype.com/index.php?...obile%3C%2Fa%3E , but according to http://www.cingular.com/cell-phone-...q_sku=sku620003
the Tre 750 has a Samsung 300 MHz processor

so that would imply that Skype Mobile is a no-go on the treo 750 as there is not enough CPUage to support it.

well it works on my phone, but there is a long delay in the talking. Not worth it for me.

BTW I am not in a 3G area.

I believe a good EDGE network will provide enough bandwidth for a VoIP solution, meaning that if you are getting cut off or the audio is laggy, that's most likely because of the hardware not able to keep up with the heavy processing involved.

I don't know what I've got here but with 5 bars I get speeds between 70 kbs to 256....Why is mine so slow?

Albany, NY

70 sounds like GPRS Class 8 or 10. 256 sounds like REALLY good EDGE. Both together sounds like a very unstable network or faulty phone.

I get the 70 to 80 range at work, which is 4 miles from my house, where I usually get about 200 give or take 50.
