So one of my workers had his mew1 flipped!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

A co-worker had the mew1 media works plan on his personal line and apparently some rep in Monterey changed his feature to the new media works plan! Get this though, she notated the account too! He of course didn't authorize the change nor was he notified of the change.

So my manager calls her manager (which he has actually met before, back when Monterey and the bay area were considered one market) and tells him whats going on, the other manager tries to play it off saying that it was done through roccs and she notated the account and there is no way she would do that because she knows what the consequences are! LOL, my manager wasn't buying it and email his arsm and the other managers arsm. Who knows if anything will happen though.

I really hope this isn't any indication of how rampent this feature flipping issue is!

It is, bad reps do whatever they can to get quota.

In california they want each rep at $20 in features per opp. Bad reps do whatever they can to hit quota. Good reps realize it's a crock of **** and move on to other companies.

They may want you guys to hit $20 per opp but your actual goal is $8 (maybe $10). There is no possibility of a write up if you hit that at least.

yes and no.

the actual IS 8 or 10, but their excuse is "each market has its own policy on features. some might have it higher or lower, and if you dont meet them you'll get it held against you"

id know. while the companies goal IS 8-10 minimum, they have set a grey limit between 10-20. this is how they'll make money.

While I tend to agree with that... last month one of my Friends still at COR was written up for not hitting his mark.

Feature goal was $18, he was at 14and chenge... That's his second month, manager said one more and he's GONE!!!.

He gave notice right after that... another 4yr vetran out the door.

I'm soo happy I opened up an agent store... even though I'm still exclusive, the COrporate BS is nowhere near as high.

And YES... Feature flipping is RAMPANT, and ENDORSED by some store managers... even ARSM's.

You might have to go above the ARSM to get someone who cares.

ivwshane - make it worst.. our asm at our cor store is having a lil powertrip... he was looking at our discounts and started complaining about it.. while our manager told us to whatever it takes to get it done...

what's corporate say on discounting?? isn't discounting on a upgrade should be allowed as well? it's cheaper to keep an exisiting customer then to acquire a new one.. and with cingular port out ratio to verizon they better take care of existing customer if they want to stay ahead of verizon...

no its cheaper to gain a new customers then keep an old ones happy cause most are under contract and the ETF is the only thing keeping them as a customer. Most people ride out the contract and leave at the end.

In our store and district, discounting upgrade prices or matching prices for upgrades is a big no no.

You and your co-worker need to call the Ethics Hotline at 888-552-4171. By not reporting this you could get fired yourself.

Personally, I think *some* reps are encouraged to just type in a number and check it for features. Why do I say this? Cause recently MY MEW1 was flipped. I hadn't been in a corporate store in 6 months, went to one nearby, and it got flipped. I called that store, asked for the manager (who was incredibly nice and cooperative). The rep's name that was on the account wasn't even employed at that store, turns out someone in VIRGINIA had done it, and it was done with OPUS, so it was a store rep. I got it back and everything, but he said he emailed the rep and cc'd the rep's manager. Few days later called me back, said he got a response that they had a customer in from our market and must have accidentally pulled up the wrong account. Odds of that? slim.

i had customer he said take the 29.99 off all five lines, then after 20 minutes of discussing his life and where he was from, he said put it all back on there. I flipped, flopped and fell into that. and got paid.

a friend of mine had the exact same thing happen with a couple of his lines with mew1. they were flipped by a store in Virginia..OMG..

I am embarassed to admit that I got written up for this when I first started working. A veteran rep at the store told me about the older plans floating around and that as long as you called and they agreed, then you were ok. A few weeks later, a rep calls my manager, I get a write up. I've done it a few times since then, but only if they are going and getting hit with usage charges, and only if it's past the vesting period.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but...

as long as the customer's informed, agrees to the change, and the account is notated, nothing wrong has been done. You are giving them more for the same amount of money that they were paying for it. If anyone's to blame, it should be the original rep that did not build up enough rapport to have the customer confide in them for all of their needs.

Of course, if you just change it without letting them know, that is COBC violation. Even our Regional Manager agrees.

COBC Violation. More like commission fraud too

When I worked for an indirect agent and we did features I would make sure I'd tell them every single feature they got and underline it.

But of course I had idiot customers and they'd come running back and remove it and then try to have the charge taken off the account. I found some sneaky customers trying to do this every 2 months or so.

Anyway, I don't recommend anyone ever flipping or slamming features, just focus on $10 min and try to get as much as humanly possible.

Of course I also averaged like 25 a month so...
