bricked V3-Didn't complete BL downgrade now nothing will recognize it

Ok my v3 origionally had bootloader 8.26 on it so I tried to use the scotty2 downgrader app to change it to version 07.D0. and it stopped for a long time at one of the steps (I don't remember which but it was after it said it flashed 8.23). So I ran it again and said I had version 8.23 so no need to downgrade. The phone didn't work when I unplugged it but my comp would still recognize it.

Then I opened up flash backup 2.62 and tried to flash it with a file called R374_V3BL 07.D0.shx, hoping that would get it to version 07.D0 like I wanted. There were two things in the box, both with check marks by them so I left them checked:

Boot Loader
Unknown (CG8)

It flashed fine without any error messages but now nothing works. When I plug my phone in it says USB device not recognized. I've tried every combination of holding # and *, putting the battery in (which is freshly charged thanks to another V3 I have handy), pushing the power button and plugging in the USB cable but still nothing (RSD lite, flash backup, p2kman, p2kcommander, p2ktools, tec.) will recognize it. When I started out the phone was completely unmodded Cingular branded which was only a month or so old. I had my old phone lying around so I put the SIM in it and it works so I still have cell service but I'd really like my razr back. thanks for helping

read the wiki on restoring the 398 ...it's pretty much the same thing...

I can't find anything on the wiki about restoring the E398 (other than the * and # method). I found a thread that says to short 2 pins of the p2k connector but I don't think my v3 has a p2k connector.

You can do a test point but that rarely happens......

.......bump

bump............

I suspect that if you don't have a PDS backup you are in trouble. Even if you do have a PDS backup you will still need to get it recognised by RSD Lite - keep trying! Otherwise it's time for a testpoint or to find somebody with a Smartclip or similar.

BTW the "Archy" downgrader is much safer and a damn site quicker too.

After several test point attempts I was finally able to back up my PDS in Flash Backup. Then I followed Mr.Bucket's un-brick guide and I got it to work. Unfortunately the last time that I had to do the testpoint to reboot my phone in the process of the un-bricking guide i snapped off whatever little component was attached to the test point lead so I removed the rest of the RF shield to try and find it. I couldn't find it but after messing around with it a little more it worked and I put it back together and flashed a stock MP and now it works great. I'll have to see if having no RF shield affects anything but if it does what do you guys recommend using to fix it? I still have it but its cut up and creased and crumpled quite a but so I think I'll need to use another piece of metal.

You don't have to use it if you don't want to....It's only a shield....If you want you can cover the components with electrical tape......Glad you got it fixed....

I'm noticing some problems. It won't charge at all even though it says charging but its not that big of a deal since I can just swap batteries with my parent's razr. Also sometimes it just turns off on its own...usually when someone calls but sometimes just for no reason. I'll see what I can do to replace the shield with something.
