Originally posted by vboyz103 I do have about 10 NEC 515s right now ![]() I actually use one of them right now, it very kewl because it is one of the first phone right now that has 65000+ colors on it (I think). I managed to have the serial cable and software to upload ringtones and pictures to phone too. I upped bunch of pictures and set each of them to different caller on my phone list accordingly. Another cool thing is that I have a ringtone that some guy is rapping in the tune. So it does have the capability of playing tones with human voice. I just love this phone. I heard that it's gonna be around $300 in price when it is released. Don't know for sure though. |
? First off, there's no need to brag, no one is here to claim how many phones they have. Put it in your profile if you must. That's great for you but most of the "unique" things you mention about the NEC 515 are also in other phones which are being released now. 3G/WCDMA phones/networks are making a limited introduction here in Europe this summer and they pave the way to the future. So that's something I will concentrate on rather than worry how many phones other users may have.|

Originally posted by TriBand81 icefire, first of all, I'm not a child just because I post something about vboyz thinking he's cooler with his cache of phones. I don't care, I was pointing out to him that no one cares about how many of the phones he has, it's more helpful to post info on how the phone works etc. No one is here to compare how many more phones they have than others. But thanks for the humor, the statement about little kids did crack me up. k

Originally posted by vboyz103 I did put out reviews in ATT forums back in some days. Search on it and you'll see. But the fact still holds that I got more then 10 of these things to play with. ![]() By the way, the firmware version of my phones are PD0341. Still trying to upload ringtones though. Don't have a manual or help is like shooting in the dark. |
:laughs:. The 515's a little too expensive for me but for the moment I'll shift back to a Nokia until the prices come down for the quadband phones. But the 3G phones are already being sold here in the UK including the NEC e606 and NEC e808 as well as the Motorola A830 so that will be a cool trend to watch when it comes our way in the US.

Originally posted by vboyz103 Can someone tell me why the US is so slow in adapting hitech phones? I mean in Japan, they are already on video conferencing phones already and look at us...still TDMA and barely GSM now with cameras and stuff. These phones we have here in US are probably ancient for Japanese people over there. |

Originally posted by psycho- Umm...most of japan runs on antiquated PDC networks, some with some data channels on the side. That equates with.......TDMA and GSM (All of them are Time Division Multiplexing). Hardly cutting edge. As for their WCDMA network there? PIECE OF SH*T Their most advanced usable network is a CDMA 2000 network, run by AU by KDDI. KDDI will have a CDMA 1x EV-DO network out soon too in the 2100 mhz range. J-Phone and NTT's WCDMAS network are all jokes in comparison. |
