No Unlock code available

Hi,
I just recently purchased a Blackberry 8100 Pearl, which is locked to Vodafone UK. I would like to have the phone unlocked so that I can use other SIM cards in the phone.
I have tried a couple of web sites and also Vodafone direct. All of whom come back and tell me that there is no unlock code for this phone available in their database. So basically I am stuck....surely I must be able to get a code from somewhere. Someone somewhere must have it or surely someone can unlock the phone.
I would appreciate some advise on this on maybe who I can contact for assistance. I can't find any contact for RIM direct so I am currently at a loss.....
