Any cases and/or pouches with the Sleep Function on both sides for the 8700c?

Hello everyone.

Anyone know of any cases or pouches that have the sleeper mode which works no matter which way you place your BlackBerry 8700c into it? With the screen acing either in or away from you?

Besides the OEM Leather Pouch #ACC-10540-003 and #ACC-10556-001 models?

Thanks

I'm sure Fortte will do this custom if it's not a feature of their holsters.

I can't say for sure about ones other than the OEM, because the OEM one is the one I'm using and is also the only one I'm recommending at this time. Overall, it's the highest quality case you can buy for a reasonable price. To get a case made as well or better from another manufacturer, you'll spend literally twice what you'd spend on the OEM case!

MSRP on the OEM case is $30, but by shopping around online, you can usually get it for $20... and if you're really lucky, that will include S&H!

On the other hand, high quality cases from Fortte and other 3rd party manufacturers can run $40-$60, and sometimes even more if you have the case truly custom-made!

Still, if you really want to know what's available that you might like, it's best to go to the BBF Reviews Forum and read through all the various reviews of cases for the 8700. This'll let you know what's available, while at the same time finding out which cases have the features you're looking for.

The Fortte lateral style pouch will engage the sleep function with the screen facing towards or away from your body. However, it will only do so if the top of the Blackberry is pointing to the right when viewing the case from the normally-exposed side.

In other words, if you wear the pouch on your right side and have the top of the BB pointed forward, you're fine. If you wear it on the left and have it pointed forward, you're not.

I have the lateral pouch and just verified all 4 possible orientations.

Which Lateral pouch do you have? The OEM pouch that I mentioned in my 1st post or a different one?

As I said in my previous post, the Fortte lateral style pouch.

I don't know for certain if that one will work in either direction, however, I have RIM's other OEM leather pouch and it definitely works both ways. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd guess that the lambskin one you're looking at would work both ways, too.

You can find a little more discussion about that pouch HERE, and I'll look for more info for you in a few hours.

BTW, looking at the design, I can tell you that pouch will work best with the screen facing IN, towards your body. If you face it out, part of the screen may end up receiving scratches or other damage. :
