While we are on the subject of replacing parts for the Excalibur (Dash) can we also replace the silver aluminum trim ring around the screen and keypad? I attempted at removing the T-Mobile emblem and it put fine long scratches along the trim piece following the Instructables instructions : http://www.instructables.com/id/EFHU5V6TKYERIE2SMP/
I just want to replace the trim ring back to a stock HTC Excalibur one or even go back to a new T-Mobile trim piece. Any idea where I can find this piece? I contacted HTC and they told me to google and try to find one.

come on someone must know where to get one, anyone :-(

try going to xda developers or other pda websites and looking up the screen part number, then search the part on google or ebay and you should be good to go

Is it actually possible to get a screen for the DASH or for MDA?

Edkek, I looked for you at Pocket PC Techs. From what is posted on this link, if the LCD itself is cracked, it looks like it is a much more involved repair process as PPCT charges $169.00 and if that was my choice, I'd buy a used Dash somewhere. There's a picture on this link of what a cracked LCD looks like. Unfortunately, they do not seem to sell the part separately. I'm sure you'll be able to find one around somewhere but I'm wondering if it will be worth the effort and time if it is a complicated repair. I'm not trying to discourage you from trying though...just pointing out something you might want to checkout.

EBay has cell phone parts listen often. They had replacement RAZR LCD screens listed there just months after the original RAZR was released.
