You can get delivery reports for SMS and MMS messages, but not emails.

Go to options/SMS or options/MMS to set the reports to ON.

is that on the messages screen? whenever i go to my messages and hit options the only option i see is general options. could this have something to do with the fact that i haven't activated my pearl on the "blackberry network"?

Can't you just see if it was delivered or not by looking at the checkmark / checkmark with a D in the sent items thing? I would think its quite annoying to get a text back everytime you send one.

On another note one thing I hate about my blackberry is when a messege doesn't go though. On my old cells if I sent an sms but it didnt get sent due to low signal or w/e, it would first of all make a noise, so that I know it didnt work... and then it would attempt ot resend it every few seconds until it went though. The berry doesnt do any of this and I look like an idiot sometimes because I send a messege then an hour later realize it didn't send since it didn't warn me or didn't try to resend the messege. Any way to fix this ?

No, it's on the options screen.
From the home screen, hit the menu button, then to go options... look for MMS and SMS in there.

The checkmark just means that it was sent. The D is the delivery report. You don't get a separate txt back saying it was delivered like on most other phones.

If I don't have a signal on my BB when I try to send a message, a clock icon appears next to it. As soon as the BB finds a signal again, the message gets sent. Looks like you might have a problem with your BB if it's not automatically sending messages as soon as it connects to the network.

you can receive confirmation of emails sent and received by the recipient if he/she is using a blackberry device.
Write <confirm> in the subject line. This will automatically cause the BlackBerry that receives the email to respond with a return receipt. The <confirm> is only recognized by BlackBerry devices and will be ignored by other email clients.

Well on mine the clock appears while it's being sent regardless of signal, but then if it doesn't work it just has a red X next to it saying network protocol as the cause for the error and doesn't resend.

I'm using an unlocked tmobile with Fido though, if that makes a difference.

Can anyone help me with this? It would be very helpful.
