Newb BES Questions

We are in the process of switching over to BBs (8100 and 8700) and are using BES with MS Exchange. (Not sure what version.) I've seen some strange behaviour of BES WRT what emails I get on my phone. I even had a few random emails from my Sent Folder from a couple of years ago appear on my phone. Anyone know why that would happen? Do we have something set up incorrectly on our server?

Also, I'm trying to prevent sent emails from appearing on my phone, as well as emails that I automatically move to personal folders. I tried using Desktop Manager to only send emails from my Inbox, not sent items or items moved into other personal folders, but I'm still getting all emails on my phone. If anyone has a suggestion to fix that, I'd appreciate it.

I recommend just hiding the Sent Items. You'll find the setting in Messages->Options... I think in General Options.

Not sure what you're referring to. In the Blackberry Desktop Manager, there is an icon for Email Settings. Inside that, there is a tab called Advanced. Inside that, there is a section called Folder redirection. I clicked on Selected folders and checked only the Inbox, not Junk Email or Sent Items. I'm still receiving all sent email to by BB. Am I missing something?

have you tried under message options, email settings, Send Email to Handheld set to No

Okay, the problem is solved. I was trying to block sent messages from the desktop manager, but it is done on the phone. I didn't want to just hide the sent items, but rather block them completely.

From inside the Messages application, press Menu Button, then select Options, Email Settings, Send Email To Handheld, press Menu Button, select Folder Redirection, Expand Mailbox, unselect Sent Items.
