USB Cable Drivers wont install!

Guys, I have read all over this forum and tried every idea I have came across and nothing seems to work. usually when I plug something USB into my computer it makes a noise and asks for drivers. My computer wont recognize my cable until I plug my i880 into it, then it asks for drivers and when it installs it installs as a modem. So I figured maybe that was ok. So when I go to WebJal, it says I still dont have USB drivers installed when I try to check off "use USB connection" what should I do? I run into this problem every time I try to do this and have only gotten it to work once and that was like 2 years ago and cant remember what I did. I am out of ideas, and have a headache over this. I'm having the same problem with a i580.

its simple all u have to do is find an older model phone like a 710 or 730 or 850 0r 860 and connect it to the computer and when u plug it up to your pc it should say that it found new hardware but u have to have the drivers installed from the iden website first in order to do this cause if u don't then it won't recognize any phone that u plug into your computer.
