Dash and Bluetooth - at my wits end!

Hey guys,

I just got a dash and I'm having a HECK of a time getting it to connect via bluetooth. I purchased a d-link bluetooth dongle and xp installed all of the drivers and software for it. No matter if I initiate the pairing via the phone or the pc it will go through and complete the pairing but will not allow file sharing nor activesync. The COM ports on the pc are set up correctly with COM3 as incoming and COM4 as outgoing (set up automatically by the pc). When I look under the com ports area of the dash it shows COM6 as my incoming and COM7 as the port to my pc. I cannot edit these to anything BUT COM6 and COM7.

I thought this was going to be something as easy as install bluetooth dongle, pair the pc and phone, sync up the two...

What am I doing wrong?!?
