VX7000 in news helicopter

I want to use the VX7000 in our news helicopter with a Bose headset and a "Safetycell" adapter. The adapter plugs into the phone earphone jack and is designed to pass the ringer sound into the Bose headset. I am told by Safetycell that LG and all cell makers now mute the ringer to avoid potential hearing damage when using earbuds.
Any ideas on how to enable the ringer function through the earphone jack?

I would test it before spending a lot of time on mods. Most cell signals are directed downwards and do not go up much beyond 2000-2500 ft.
If you are down around 500ft AGL it probably would work fine, however.

Also the FAA and FCC have issues with cell phones in AC.

Basically since the transmission is line of sight, when you are up in a aircraft, you hit more towers than the RF engineer planned when he designed the system. This may cause problems.
The FAA gets excited since the cell phone radiation COULD ( not saying it would) affect navigation instruments. If you do it, make sure you stay VFR!
