Did anyone see this on Gizmodo? They have a link to a Russian website that is hosting the pre-release version of Microsoft Windows Crossbow. Man, I would love to download it, but I am worried that I would screw up my whole OS.

Its not even in English, its all in Russian!

Yep, I saw that on Gizmodo's website. OMG, are they crazy? M$ is going to be up their a** in a hot second threatening them with a lawsuit. I hope they pull that link soon.

BTW, those prereleases are meant and optimized for the Wizard & Universal line of PPC Phones. I sure as Hell wouldn't attempt to put it on any other device unless you want to take a huge chance getting a very expensive brick afterwards.

Anyone brave enough or know of any succesful installs of Crossbow on current MS PDA phones??

Windows Mobile comes embedded in the ROM and has to be custom build for your specific platform by the device maker. You can't just download a generic WM OS and install it. There is no such thing. So as posted, the link is for HTC Wizard line of PPC phones. That file will only work for those phones. If you want to flash that ROM file to your non-Wizard phones, it will either refuse to do it or completely brick your phone.
