Please Help! .exe's wont open on 8525! ne1 know why?

I just got my 8525 a couple days ago and I love it. I have been trying to put different applications and games on it, but everytime I try to put an .exe file on it it says "xxx is not a valid Pocket PC application". Am I doing something wrong or will it not support .exe files or what? Please help I'm a noob!

exe's need to be opened from your computer. they will take you through an install and automatically put the program on your phone as long as its plugged in

I think it worked, but its not showing up under games or anything...where would I find it?
