Question: am new to the 8525's and i have a customer who has an 8525 and his battery went completely dead. When we charged it and turned it back on all his information was gone. Is this normal or whats going on here?
Thanks

the 8525 does have a backup battery and no it is not normal for the info to be lost when the battery goes dead. only when the main battery and backup goes dead then he will loose all of his info. i swap sim cards in mine all the time and i never loose any info. some battery monitors will display the status of the backup battery aswell. i would recommend buying one. i use resco software and have never had any problems out of it.

it can also be a normal sign. as, if he left his 8525 plugged to the wall when power went out, the Ac adapter (charger) slowly drains the internal and external battery. Happen to be before.. just do a test remove the external battery for about 30 mins and turn on the 8525 see if he loses data again, if it does u should get it looked at

I thought the 8525 does not have a backup battery but uses persistant storage (new to WM5) or am I missing something here? I have a backup phone (Wizard) and only throw the battery in when I need it (3 months at one point) and it has never lost info
