"Blank" IT Policy?

Okay here's my delima. I previously synced up my Pearl w/ my company's BES. Little did I know they protect the BES by sending an IT policy to every phone on it that prevents 3rd party downloads. So here's my delima. I've successfully severed the ties between my 8100 and the company's BES... but that IT policy is still floating active on my Pearl and STILL won't let me download 3rd party programs.

our company's helpdesk won't send me a blank IT policy because they can't. The BES administrator MIGHT be able to but it's very doubtfull because that would be against the reason for restricting every phone from being able to download 3rd party material anyways (I presume I have to be synced up to the BES in order to receive a new one). Blackberry tech support (via T-Mobile) advised me the only thing I can do is re-sync to the BES and contact BES administration and request a blank IT policy.

I paid close to $300 for my phone. I'd much rather have the freedom of putting whatever I want on my Pearl than to receive my work e mails away from work. Is there ANY way I can overwrite/defaul the existing IT policy on my device so that I CAN download 3rd party software? Thanks.
