Ok now, you all have to admit that we now have customers starting to ask stupid questions since we are going back to at&t. I'll give one to start it off that I had the other day, and I am wondering what response and request everyone else is getting.

Cust: Since you're going back to at&t, when are you going to start to bring back the North America plans?
Me: We are just changing names sir, the old at&t is gone.
Cust: Well, I may just have to switch to Verizon since they have it. Are you sure you're not going to bring it back.
Me: I'm sorry to hear that, but again all we are doing is just changing the name to our parent company. We will not be bringing any features or plans back from the old at&t as we are the NEW at&t.

Number of people that have asked me if they can add an old AT&T Wireless phone to their account: 3. And counting.

A customer asked another rep that and he had a hard time explaining why it wouldn't work

A blue customer came in with his old phone with an ATT sim chip in it and wanted me to transfer his number to his new CU500 (that he was mailed). As I was transfering the numbers he looked up at all the ATT signs we have up and was very confused.

CUSTOMER: "So I am switching from ATT to Cingular and now its ATT again?"

ME: "Yes, its something like that"

I'm getting really tired of customer's coming in to complain about the switch. "YOU'RE AT&T AGAIN? WHEN CAN I CANCEL MY CONTRACT". We had one dude come in and rail a CSR because he didn't want to have a phone from AT&T. Dude tried to explain to him that nothing was changing but the guy acted like AT&T killed his family.

I know at my call center we have been hit pretty good by people calling in with at&t questions.. All get the same basic answer, it's a name change only... Not many like that if your trying to migrate them

Cust1: "Are you guys going to charge me another $18, like you did when
you switched your name from AT&T to Cingular?"

Cust2: "Now that you are AT&T again, I want my $18 back that you
charged me when you changed your name from AT&T to Cingular!"

/No sir/mam we are at&t, here watch this Steven Colbert report
from the daily show.

All jokes aside I think Colbert explained it better than I could!!!!!!

I had a customer tell me we are going thru an identity crisis!

Actually this is kind of interesting...if you looked at the CSP article highlighting the new OPUS redesign, you'll notice there's some features like "shared SMS" and other things like that. Just some food for thought.

Your nice, I wouldn't have done it.

I love it when a customer comes in and asks that as I have a well prepared speech for them. I'll shorten it up too and feel free to use it as it works every time.

Cust: So you guys are going back to AT&T

Me: Well we are not going back to AT&T as before it was AT&T wireless, Cingular merged with AT&T wireless in which the Cingular name was kept. SBC and bellsouth are the parent companies who own Cingular. SBC changed their name to AT&T (by the way who do you have for home service?) and AT&T merged with Bell South to take full ownership of Cingular and at that point Cingular will become AT&T.....not AT&T wireless, just AT&T. So now all of our stores will everything from wireless needs to internet and home satellite services. About that home service...who do you use?

I know, I know it is a little over the top and most wouldn't even bother, but it actually works most of the time. But keep in mind I don't use it all the time, just when I see fit to go that deep. Most of the time I use the same comment.....

"Yes....but no...Have a nice day!!"

But I especially love the AT&T wireless customers that are still on the national unlimited rate plans that come in...

Cust: I lost my phone...can I just buy one...you guys are AT&T again?? None of your new plans fit my calling needs, I talk for 7500 minutes and I want to stay on this plan.

Me: Well your screwed and your out of contract!!
