Hi,

I previously owned a SMT5600 smartphone, and i liked how from the 10 digit numeric keypad i could dial some keys and it would show a list of names OR numbers that matched.

For example, entering "262" from the dial screen would show a list of things like:

-Phone numbers that contain "262" in them
-All contacts named "Bob" (the alpha keys on the 2, 6, 2 keys spell bob)
-Contacts with "Cob" somewhere in thier name....

Is this same functionality present in the 8525 from the touchscreen dialpad?

yes the cingular 8525 also does this

if you type 416 818
it would give u a list of numbers close to it

I have found the more numbers you press the more it narrows down your search so for a Bob you might want to try his last name
