Only when I forget my bluetooth ear-piece is in my pocket. Be sure you BT profile dos not have a headset in there. And if you have a headset, re-pair it.

I have had the same problem. I contacted Palm and they walked me through a hard reset and it turns out that its a software glitch. Follow these steps and that should relieve it:
First, take out the battery and sim card.
Second, Hold down the red hang phone button and at the same time insert the battery back in to the phone.
Third, when you see the "reset data" screen press up and let it reset back to factory screen
Fourth, go through the initial set up screens until you get to the dial pad screen asking for the sim card.
Fifth, take out the battery and put back the sim card and battery and let it restart to the today screen
Sixth: call you cell phone from your home phone and it should work just fine If it doesn't and it still had a delay, your phone needs to be replaced.

If it works fine, then go ahead and sync all of your information back to the phone.

DON'T FORGET TO SYNC YOUR PHONE FIRST BEFORE YOU TO A HARD RESET SO YOU HAVE EVERYTHING BACKED UP ON YOUR COMPUTER.

GOOD LUCK AND PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE!

My wife and I have the same problem with our Treo 750s on occasion.
It usually only happens on the occasional call. If the person tries to call back a 2nd time it almost always works the second time.

It hardly ever happens to me, but happens to my wife a little more often. The only thing I do different is that I have a habit of closing down background programs.
Press and hold the "OK" button to bring up the active program list. Then I select "Stop all" (or stop most.)

I think stopping background programs helps a lot, but I can't be sure.

This is definitedly a bug in the 750, it happens to everyone as far as I can tell. Plam is aware of it and I really HOPE they find a way to fix it in the upcoming software patch that they have planned.
Even before the Treo shipped an upcoming softare upgrade was already in the works to fix some problems. LIke I said I hope this is one of them on that list of fixes.

You're not alone. Factory resetting shouldn't be necessary as I believe it's going to keep happening anway. But it certainly wouldn't hurt. It's just very disruptive to do it.

If you follow the instructions I posted on this forum, it will not happen again. I have not had the problem since. It may be "disruptive" but it is worth it. Believe Me.

Your instructions are very specific with the SIM and all. I'll give it a shot.
What does that mean, your phone needs to be replaced if it still happens.
Really? It's the sign of a defective phone?

Thanks for the post.

These are the instructions from the Tech support people at Palm. He told me that if this doesn't work that it is not a software problem but a phone problem. But, he also said that he is very sure its a software glitch. If you notice the hard reset instructions are a little different from the typical way they tell you to do it in the manual. It should work for you. Let me know if it does.
