First Time Poster: Ranting

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey I have been reading these forums for a while and I decided to go ahead and start posting. I work in a Cingular COR and have been there for almost 3 years.

I have been reading a lot of ranting about customers on this board...which I love. What I dont like is the fact that there is always a few posters who deem it necessary to make comments like "you are in the wrong industry" or "you should find a new job you arent doing Cingular any good"

This angers me because why the hell should a person be villianized for venting his frustrations about some of these stupid customers in an internet message board. I don't know about some of you, but I do not plan on being an RSC for the rest of my life, I graduated college this past December and I am actively looking for a new job outside the company.

I could care less what is "good for" Cingular, all I care about is my paycheck.

I like you already. Welcome.

Haha yeah I hear you. Working in any job where you have to deal with customers is a pain in the rear. The lack of respect people can have sometimes kills me.

Most annoyinh customers of a Cingular COR store.

-the customer who comes up to the door 45 minutes before we open and start banging on the door and trying to pull the door open when the door clearly states when we open and close.

-we have a sign in sheet in the store instead of traditional lines. People don't seem to grasp the concept of signing in and waiting for someone to call your name. They get so frazzled when you ask them to sign in.

-we have a paystation in our store, it is a simple touchscreen. NOBODY EVER KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!! We have even posted signs telling people exactly what to do and they still never know what to do.

-no customer rant would be complete without the famed "I don't know my number, I never call myself" portion.

-the customers with GEDs who suddenly believe that they are lawyers. Like when we are out of stock on a deal item I always here "well thats false advertisment!" or "you have to accept my (bad) check, its the law."

-the customers who apparently have never shopped in a retail store before and do not understand the concept of a return policy.

-the customers who act like the idea of a mail in rebate is the equivilent to the rape and murder of their entire family. I always hear, "you know, the whole rebate scam is so that people wont send them in and they steal your money." And I always think, "well if you send it in you will stick it to them!"

This is why any decent company should fire you. Your job is to do what is good for your customer and for your company.

It is understandable that you would have this attitude. The company does not care about its customers or even about adhering to its end of a written contract; they only care about ARPU. How could you possibly have a different attitude?

Do not fear for your job. You epitomize the ideal Cingular employee.

If I was working for a "decent" company, then I probably would not have the opinion of my job that I have.

Pay some of your bills and someday you will be able to qualify for postpaid.

If we would only make these dumb idiot customers disappear...

Wow batting 3 out of 3 here. No customers, no job. Pretty simple isn't it?

We will pass on the "honor" of qualifying for a contract. I liken that honor unto qualifying for a noose.
Hint: Cingular "not adhering to the contract" is first hand, not third hand knowledge.

Customers who want business will be forgiven.

well put!!! i happen to be very good at my job, but i find all these recent paycuts and now the newest one in march to be ridiculous, and i find that i need to vent about retard customers on a regular basis. this is how i can walk back onto the floor with a smile for the next retard to sell them a blackberry.

Posted by: tszefr

What would a tard want with a blackberry?

I got it! You guys need to make a deal with your buds at Sprint/Nextel to compensate you for all the tards you send them. Bleeeep!

Haha. I love threads like this. It should be allowed for customers to try to bash employees. It's a good time.

To anyone who takes offense to this-

Do you think Cingular cares about what is good for you or? Or do they care about thier bottomline? Hell I dont think CIngular even cares about thier customer, unless they have every data package Cingular offers, so why should I care about a company who doesnt care about me?

ha ha ha he said enjoy your vacation. our moderator is a froggy one.

What I find funny is that I sincerely believe that ANYONE who works in retail grows to hate most of their customers.

However, we (as Cingular employees and agents) get attacked for sharing our malice towards them. Why? Simply because of this forum.

I mean, EVERYONE in retail talks smack about their customers...we just do so and leave public record of it, whereas their words go off into the air.

wait wait....a customer states that you knowingly have to accept a bad check? Thats downright fraud....fraud + police = no no...I understand if a customer is writing a check and just doesn't know how to balance his/her check book, but flat out stating that its a bad check....uh, that can get you in trouble real quick.

It used to be a misdemeanor....it's a felony now. Which means many thousands of dollars for one bad check in fines...and possible jail time.

Maybe if we couldnt rant in these forums there would be more disturbing news at 8 oclock involving disgruntled cingular employees.

and if you really want to deal with uber jackasses........work rural.

you can act impressed when customers tell you what they know about cell phones.........

Posted by: Revenuer

For a future cingular customer, I find this very entertaining.

When are the new razr's coming out?
