Voice Mail Notifications on VX8300

I have it set so it should play a song. But instead it beeps. How can i fix this?
I've done the menu>settings & tools>sound settings>alert sounds>Voicemail msg>tone>selected tone>ok. And it says "alert tone set." But it doesn't work when i get a voicemail. I even have my reminder set to off, and it still doesn't work.
