Do your stores offer the same prices for phones for new service and upgrades?

Mine does, we are a agent store about 5 blocks from a corporate store. We price match them exactly.

Damn Cingular, they make it hard to sell.

New Act Prices are usually lower at Sam's Club and Walmart. Sam's has the cu500 for $29.87 on a new act.

Same here, and I have gotten into the habit of just telling them the upgrade price, and if they are activating, great... I tell them "I'll save you $20 today" . Oh and my store doesn't put the prices out on the phone.

We tell them that new customers pay a 36 act fee and existing oay 18 so they pay a little more up front but a little less on their bill. Usually works.

The people that come into my store always seem to moan about the whole $18 "upgrade charge" which I think is complete BS. Depending on how much they buy from me, I might throw in a case or CLA or give them a discount just to make them happy. But most of the time I tell them that CS waives that charge depending on how long you hve been a customer which is true BTW.
