When i was researching SmartPhones, I read from numerous magazines that there were two glaring problems with the XV6700:

1. It could not take calls while you are on the internet.
2. It could not be tethered to a laptop and act as a modem.

I then read from three different reviews that there was a firmware upgrade in the Summer of 2006 that corrected these problems.

When I tried to use the phone as a modem, it wouldn't work. When I called Verizon, they said I would need to upgrade. They went as far as to get me in touch with a UT Starcom representative, who informed me that the reviews were wrong, and that it cannot.

She did double check my ROM version, and I do have the latest (2.07.20 WWE).

Has anybody else had this problem, or been able to use it? I am paying almost $60 a month extra for this supposed option........
