"New AT&T" = new store layouts?

I did a search for this topic and it didn't turn up any relevant results, so I guess I'll go ahead and start it.

Has anybody gotten the chance to see what the new layouts for COR RSOs will look like, once renovations kick in? A few of my coworkers went to a "merger launch celebration" a few weeks back and got a quick look at the mock-ups, but I missed it. As I'd expect, a Google search doesn't turn up anything quite yet.

I'm really hoping that the company will put some serious thought into the layout and flow of our renovated stores. Right now, I'm working in a legacy blue store, so we've got the giant "snail shell" desk that 4-5 reps stand behind.

We also have a long row of chairs parked in front of a HomeZone-powered TV monitor, to keep the dee-dee-dees sedated- *cough* I mean, customers educated on all of AT&T's product offerings while they wait to explode into infantile temper tantrums- *cough*cough* I am so sorry, I meant to say "wait to be assisted".

I hear that our sign-in podiums will be replaced with touch-screen monitors to "register for assistance" upon entry of the store. Now, assuming the 6030-sporting prepaid customer can make it to this point, a message indicating whether to call 611, or wait for a sales rep, etc. will appear on screen, once they have answered a quick questionaire as to why they've come in to the store.

If this is true, I cannot wait to see this implemented. Customer walks into the store and sees five howler-monkeys barking at their respective RSCs in the "snail shell"; an elderly couple who can barely remember how to operate a toaster oven, attempting to use the Pay-Station; some idiot in the back of the store, squacking at the insurance replacement rep about how he is a member of MENSA and is also losing $10,000 per minute that the phone he dropped in the toilet and pooped on is not functioning; a couple of squirell-cookin' Joe Dirt look-alikes badgering the HSC about why AT&T Yahoo! DSL is not available in Podunkville (population: 24); a mass of people sitting in our "waiting chairs" like a studio audience at a taping of The Jerry Springer Show; and finally, right there front and center, a line for the sign-in touch screen monitor. It will take so long for anyone to figure out how to operate such new-fangled texmex'ing technology, that there will literally be a line to get into the line.

At least the new color scheme is nice.

In a legacy blue store here too bro, haven't heard about anything that your talking about, but they definetly sound cool. Only thing I would have an issue with would be those touch screen's....half the customers cant seem to understand how to use the payment station, let alone having to use a sign in kisok, but we will see

People are dumb as all out.

Customers in our store ask us stupid things like "I just want to buy this car charger, you mean I have to sign in for that?"

We put our sign-in podium as close to the door as we can, yet we see people all the time come in and walk past it. Some people will come in, look at the sign-in sheet, NOT sign and just walk past it.

Seriously it is embarrassing to see other people of the same species be so dumb. Almost makes you wish you were a cat. I know my cats are definately smarter than most of the morons that come into my store.
