A Better Highlighting Solution?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Maybe I'm just too old but I have trouble reading highlighted text in menus/contacts (gray area with white font type) over the un-highlighted text (white background with black font type).

Does anyone have a solution to this, please?

Perhaps: reversing the shading; darkening the grayscale of the highlight; changing the highlight from gray to a color; changing the highlighted font from white to a color or black; you get the picture.

Thank you for any thoughts/suggestions/answers, Phonuzer

BUMP

With the bravado regarding mods in no short supply here within HoFo I'm surprised that nobody has a suggestion/thought/helpful tip regarding the altering of shading or coloring of backgrounds, fonts or highlights (see above).

C'mon, Help an " 'ol " man out!

Thank you for your thoughts, Phonuzer

Hmmm... that is a good question. I think with PPC's the different themes also change the backgrounds of the menus. But I'm not so sure that will work with smartphones. I would guess your best bet is to try different themes.

If you're just talking about your contacts list, use a different contacts manager like Agenda One where you can choose the color of the text, background, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion of Agenda One.

I thought that there might be something in the way of an XML re-write regarding colors/shades values.

Here is an interesting site that I just found that has tables showing the hex values for shades and colors along with some tutorials; it's just being able to apply this to my existing theme by a talented chap found here .
