Hosed E815

I just bought a used E815 from ebay for parts (I needed the upper housing and LCDs to fix my wife's phone). So all went ok for that.
I stuck my old .. slightly cracked LCD on this ebay phone .. and noticed it was on the dreaded "BootLoader USB Init" screen. It will not power off .. it will not be discovered as any device in Windows XP or 2000 (I'm assuming it's not sending any signals)
My question is .. is there any way to "hard reset" the phone so it can "reboot" .. either by shorting out pins or connectors? I really don't care what happens to it .. so it truly is a test device. But I figure if I can get it to reboot once .. the possibility to reflash it is there.

The phone can be flashed in emergency mode with the correct software and flash file.

Thanks for the quick reply .. what exactly is "emergency mode"? If you mean hitting * and # while trying to power off/on .. it doesn't do anything.
I'm trying to get to the point of the phone being recognized by the computer, so I can load the flash interface and use MFF to load my flash file. I just can't get it to that point yet.
And like I said .. the phone will not power off. I stick a battery in .. it's at the Bootloader USB Init screen .. I take the battery out and use the Moto OEM Charging/data Cable .. and it's at the same Bootloader USB Init screen .. I hold the * and # and power buttons .. nothing happens .. my computer will not recognize a device attached to the cable at all ...
Easier to just toss the phone .. since I've used all the parts I already need?

Well that is why you initially bought the phone for right? Parts...
