Ok, so I showed my friend some videos of funlights clublights and etc, and he is crazy over it. Now he wants full songs on his razr. I don't have a gsm phone so I never tried modding. Can someone give me step by step instructions? dont wanna break his phone.....

what kind of V3 is it? if its just a regular V3 good luck adding full songs, theres not much memory on them, maybe 4 songs MAX if that

I know there isn't much memory, but i can always make it a lower bitrate so that i can fit up to like 7 songs. then I can unbrand his phone from cingular and i read somewhere that you can get 10mb on a Razr V3? If so, I think 8 songs are very possible (encoded at 32kb or something)

I would recommend keeping the bitrate at 96; although some have said they don't notice much loss at 84 or so, and given the capability of the speakers, that may well be. Yes there is an MP (Apristel's) that will yield 10MB of free space and you can put several songs on with that space. Be sure to make backups of everything before you start modding. You may find that the 10MB comes at an expense of something the phone user wants to maintain. Test the different bitrates on the PC for intelligence desirability and then test them on the phone to see if it is still acceptable. Good Luck.

He already has a ringtone at 32 kb and its not bad sounding, compared to those idiots on their old motorola's from nextel, listenning to some recording of a song on full volume, thinking they are cool.

OK, at the risk of an ignorant question, is the "32 kb" a bitrate or a file size? File size is not problematic; however the bitrate can be if the phone has a great speaker system (and I thought you mentioned songs rather than ringtones, two quite different animals with different purposes) from which one wants a good reproduction. Not trying to argue, just to understand the parameters with which you are dealing.

I meant sound quality. And he has a full song on it already...
