Hey wankers, i was just wondering, i work as an agent under mobile communication systems, or mobile com if you will. I need to know what perks of the job i might get. See my boses are VERY shady dudes. They didnt tell us about our cingular challenge thing and stole our points, They make returns on our sales and put it in their name so they get the sale, and they are just stingy dudes. Soooo i was wondering what perks i might be missing out on. Ohh yeah and cingular wants a 750 $$ deposit for me to get a phone. Besides a " go " phone, any other ways around it. The boses say i MUST have cingular service. Please help !

You should be put under the employee rate plan. Basically no contracts or credit checks. $25 a month gets you 2000 mins, unlim txt, and 5MB of media net. If you want to get a PDA phone, data is only I think either $20 or $25 a month. The only downside is that you are going to have to provide your own phone. And that sucks that your manager is screwing you over. Talk to your DM about it and see what he/she has to say about it.

Actually even for ANR25 you need to pass a credit check....

knate: which store in OH are you in?

Not in my area you don't.

must be market specific, i've had 2 employees not able to get it because of bad credit

Mobile Com gave all agents a bad name in my area. They were worse than Elephant Wireless. They closed 3 stores here and we had to deal with issues left over by them for over a year. Luckily we found a neighboring state had a main office to send these people to. What a mess they left...

Which stores are you referring to? And how long ago was this?

If your manager is returning your sales and putting them in under his name, I would talk to Dom about it. Things like that shouldn't happen.

How long have you been with MCOMM?

Posted by: nastyknate

uhh ive worked here for about... two months now. Ive havent had anymore problems with the returning stuff but they still hide alot. The last few kids that worked here had the same problem. Now im being threatened that if i dont get a cingular phone i cant work, and i MUST have a phone with bluetooth. Think Dom knows a way to get around deposits?

Posted by: AnarchE

Dom probably wouldn't be able to get around the deposit but your RAE might be able to pull some strings.

What kind of things does your manager hide? And make sure anyone running into those return issues confronts their manager and Dom about it. MobileComm is actually a really stand up company, but with the amount of stores they have it is hard to keep track of things like this....especially if they don't get properly escalated.

i worked for them in south carolina for a few months. had a good experience overall. paranj and arnie wanted me to manager a store for them because of my experience of working in the industry. i declined and i took a much better paying position in a different line of work.

i couldn't work for/with people doing shady stuff that you have to put up with...i would find a new job.

kilo: so you didn't have any experiences like nate?

How did colin treat you?

I've worked for Mobile com in Ohio for about 5 months now and Dom still wont give me my A&R line. Hes a hard man to get an answer or even a response out of when I try to text him or have my manager email him. Ditto about the manager taking sales if we screw up on em though. It sucks bad, but its a tough lesson to learn to make sure everything is done correctly.

I had to register after reading this site for as long as I've worked for Mobile com now and of course after seeing a few posters in my area I just had to register.

The ANR plan isn't up to dom, it's up to your cingular account executive to setup for you. Do you ever see your RAE from Cingular?

As far as your manager taking your sales if you screw up, that's pretty wrong but I guess it's a good way to teach reps how to do **** the right way. I would never go that route but I can see where it would be an effective way of getting reps to pay more attention to detail.

no nothing like the other person had.

colin was fine. he was sort of hardcore about outside sales though, wanted you to cold call businesses and try to sell them phones. i never really had experience doing anything like so it was kinda weird.

he does love to drink that's for sure. we had some fun nights.

The drinking thing goes for just about everyone that works for MComm, it actually makes things a little easier I think. At the chrismtas parties and events held for top perfomers everyone gets trashed and we all have a good time.

What line of work did you switch to?

i'm a project manager for a modular home builder. my parents built homes for 30 years, so i grew up around the construction of houses. i got an offer i couldn't refuse and haven't looked back. i loved my years in wireless sales, but wasn't making what i wanted to be making at my age (26).

Posted by: AnarchE

heh sounds familiar. my dad was a contractor for 30+ years, which is actually why I got into sales....don't want to kill my body even if it is good money

Posted by: nastyknate

yeah they all like to drink ! We had a manager meeting at my store in greatnorthern mall yesterday. It was me and 13 managers. After the meeting i had 3 customers waiting to be helped and they all walked out of the meeting and headed straight for the bar next door. Not even my stores manager stoppped to help atleast 1 customer. They consider drinks more important. How do you know Dom and everyone? Yeah they just enforced a two DSL quotta a month by each employee per month and dom hasnt even added me to the At&t system yet. ( dom, if you read this, jump off the corporate **** (penis) and do something ) Johns a cool dude though ! He seems like a good guy. IM HERE TO SELL PHONES NOT DSL, LANDLINES, DISH, AND TAKE PAYMENTS. why wouldn't i just go work for corporate? They pay the same and give me free phones.

Posted by: nastyknate

okay so now a girl i work with tells me that we have to have an exhisting account for atleast 6 months in order to get an employee line. How would i get a hold of my RAE and exactly what is a RAE? Please help. I just got a new manager, ( jeremy ) and hes cool, very chill and honest dude. Dom is a tool and never does what we ask untill weeks later. Ive had job offers from verizon, wireless toys, and t-mobile but i would rather stay with cingular. What exactly do i need for an employee plan. My last manager ( howie ) told me he oculd get pass the deposit. GRRRRRRRRRR i HATE CORPORATE BS ! help please !

Posted by: AnarchE

Its possible it is different in your market, but the having an account for 6 months sounds like BS to me.

Your RAE should be in your store every once in a while.
