Unlocked TyTN Roaming Symbol

I am using a new unlocked Hermes with a T-Mobile SIM from my Dash. Only on the today screen, I have the roaming (triangle) symbol and no operator name, and I don't have this problem with the Dash. I read about the hacks but have never played with the registry. I am wondering if I am in fact roaming?
If it needs the hack, is there a recommendation for someone in SoCal (Long Beach area)?
