3G for Long Island?

I currently have the 8125 and am thinking of upgrading to the 8525, but right now I know 3G only exists around the 110 corridor on long island, and in NYC. Does anyone know if there are plans to extend that coverage during the next year? I'm not sure if it makes sense for me to upgrade or not since I'm only in a 3G when I'm at work.

Part of the week I live in Roslyn and the other part I live in Manhattan. I hate the fact that I don't get 3G in Roslyn yet. You are 100% about 110 because I work in Huntington Station and get 3G perfectly over there.
I know there are other places on the Island that get 3G because I took the Pt. Washington line on the LIRR and had 3G most of the way in (Starting in Great Neck).
Cingular told me that they are working on it and it has been getting better because even spots in NYC that I didn't get 3G in back in November when I bought the Blackjack, I can now get 3G there.
I used to have the 8125, get a 3G phone.

There is no 3G in GN. I was there yesterday and only had EDGE on my Treo 750.

I live in Copiague and have 3g, but this is because the entire corridor from the south shore all the way to Huntington (its not very wide if you look at the map) has 3g.
Give it time, the only time I have 3g is at home - which kinda stinks but its better than not at all.
Oh yea - 8525 here.

The Blue is where 3G is on Long Island....
So I did get 3G in Kings Point, which is Great Neck.

I live in Merrick and work in RVC! If I want to try 3G I drive either to JFK or Amityville! I heard by the summer the West and East should be together!

I heard the same thing...I get 3G on the 110 Corridor....but not at my office in Bethpage...and not at my home in Smithtown / St. James....not even close yet! Long Island has to have one of Cingular's largest "non-big-city" customer base....they should be rolling this out faster...!

Ditto about Great Neck/Kings point. I grew up there and frequent on the weekends. After parts of Queens 3G just dies. Never a problem in Manhattan, sorta makes it frustrating to go home. If you got anything in kings point its probably catching some signal from across the water.
