I Screwed up my WM5 on Samsung Blackjack, PLS HELP.

Hi guys I just recently purchased a Blackjack and today I accidentally deleted some files within the phone and now my Windows Mobile 5 would not boot up. I"ve been looking for ways to restore WM5 on the phone but no luck. It seems like to only way to fix it might be getting the phone back to cingular and reflash it with the OEM firmware. I live in Canada so this will be a big problem.

Can some blackjack owners out there pls help me by making a copy of the "MY WINDOWS MOBILE-BASED DEVICE" from the phone? PLEASE HELP. I'm located in toronto and if any owners in the GTA area can help me out by meeting up with my laptop I'm willing to pay for the process. Thanks

I think the problem cud be solved with a Hard Reset.... I dont know the key combination. But some one would surely help you.... Don worry

You are the reason Steve Jobs locked down the iphone. When he made the quip about messing up the phone where it can't be used, he thought of the adventurous windows mobile user

Just Kidding!

I am not too sure about Windows Mobile (only been with the dash for a couple weeks) but I know with other models if you do a flash of the phone it basically reinstalls the OS and you could be good to go. That being said, I don't know step one on how to flash a Winmo phone and, depending on how long you have had the device, it might be a TON easier to go back to Cingular and say it just broke.

Hard Reset the BJ......

BackUp your Mem Card first, because all your personal data would get wiped out....

***The phone should be powered off first. With the phone off; press the Up Navigation key and the Power key. You will then be asked to format the Phone; 1 - YES!***

I googled for this info. So haven't tried out myself.....

Yep-- my phone got jacked up last week (randomly too-- I didn't delete anything) and the Samsung tech support said the same thing to hard reset

hold the power button down and press "up" on d-pad. it works
