mig33 is a mobile application that allow users to make cheap calls, SMS, mobile IM (yahoo, msn messenger, AOL) and the most interesting is their chat room. You can create your own chat room as well as joining other people chat room around the world. It's a great application.

Its for java enable phone, so for those who are using the symbian phone, it still supported.

Posted by: Phat^Trance

waaay better Operamini versions: http://opera.siemens-club.org/last_e.html

nav4all.com and wayfinder.com is some nice GPS appz

Posted by: pakraider

Mobilcast is a free app that lets you stream podcasts live to your phone! they have hundreds to choose from, just amazing.

Posted by: tszefr

Morange seems pretty slick to me... "latest 2.7.0, with over 100 new features, just released for GetJar users! Push mail, Instant Messaging (MSN / Google Talk), Push RSS channels..." That is right push mail. Even has a bit counter so you can see if your service provider is Jacking with you on how many bits you moved.

What makes them better?

does google maps cost anything with t-zones?

Posted by: luizpng

maybe they are upgrading their services for mig33. while we waiting for the upgrading, we can spend some times for other features like chat room, calls, or even sms. agree?

an ugprade means there will be more stable and more features coming soon.

as a user, im waiting for the good to come.

cheer for mig33.

Posted by: Blakthorn

is morange free or what, explain it some more thanks

Posted by: JPCrazyLegs

So ok , if I just want to use Mig33 for AIM use and only aim use, does it charge me DATA charges, or TEXT messaging charges. It is not very clear, it says free but....

Posted by: youngxlos

guys im using mig33 but when i try to connect to aim it says failed to sign into AIM-sign in time out.
any one else get this message?

Posted by: Accurim

JP, it charges data. It's ideal for people with a data plan or something.

Posted by: Firehawk989

wap.sonyericsson.com has opera mini in the apps section.

Posted by: phattbam

nice. .i'm gonna sign up with mig33 and use it on my k800i

Posted by: luizpng

its work fine for me. maybe you can test another time. by the way, every application outside there will be a gprs charge from your local telco. same to me as well.

but when we enter mig33, everything will be free. they only will charge for the SMS and voice calls. chat room or IM will not be charged by them.

thats why i can say mig33 is best for me. hehehehe.

let me give a short explanation on what is mig33:

You can get Instant Messenger, cheap calls, SMS and chat room from mig33 application through your mobile devices. But there are much more you can find out from this application because mig33 has made an unprecedented breakthrough for their new website and new features for the application.

The new features will be Ajax Chat, Scrap Book, Picture Sharing, Picture Sharing and VOIP Toolbar? Yes, that is the new features that we can find out from the website and mig33 application. Surprisingly, we can use their services not only from our mobile device but as well as from your PC.

Try the below screenshot, hopes this will help you guys

Posted by: youngxlos

what connection did you use? i tried http and i got this error message
connection error. please go to http://wap.mig33.com to resolve the problem:jave.lang.exception:Response Code:504

Posted by: luizpng

TCP is much cheaper. if you cant use TCP, then you have to use HTTP. but can i know what phone are you using and where is your location?

Posted by: JPCrazyLegs

When I try to sign into aim it gives me sign in time out

Posted by: gummianden

Thanks for the headup on the mig33. Seems like a cool application

Posted by: youngxlos

i am using a k800i with T-mobile. i have unlimited data. but it always tell me sign in time out

I have a cool Webster's dictionary on my W900i (which doesnt require the use of the internet) yipee.

I also read ebooks on my W900i again I dont need the net they are stored on my phone. So its all good im having a lot of fun with my phone though I have my first mid-term next week and need to start studying...lol

Currently reading on my W900i- How to make cool websites by Dave Taylor, its a 432 page book

Posted by: luizpng

if you ahve a java phone, mig33 is the best choice because the application can run on all JAVA especially on SE and Nokia.

for the AIM, maybe is due to the upgrade. or maybe we can try out on their chat rooms [i like the most], cheap calls and others IM like Yahoo and MSN.

if you guys got problems, try to voice it out so we can share together..

and after downloading it, how you all thinkon mig33?

Question for you guys: How to make a shortcut to a specific application?

I tried on my w810i, the shortcut can only be made to "File Manager", not further down...

Some cool apps for those of you who take pictures and like to share them:

Shozu - Allows you to share pictures straight from your phone to your Flikr
account.

http://www.shozu.com/portal/index.do

Radar - a social picture app where you can take pictures, and share with your friends. It is a little limiting because you have to actually invite friends to see anyones pictures, but it has a nice interface.

http://radar.net/index.html

I'm using a w800 on tmobile's $5.99 plan and these both work fine.

Posted by: Bored&Gorgeous

I installed Morange, I think I like it more than Mig33, it seems to run smoother an the Data Counter is pretty slick.

Posted by: youngxlos

^^^ can you use AIM with Morange?

Posted by: Bored&Gorgeous

I think it just uses MSN an Google Talk...

Posted by: dawinger

are there any map programs that don't require data access? i.e. the map packs are stored in the phone memory/stick

Posted by: luizpng

i prefer mig33 because i use more on the IM rather than google talk or skype. sorry to say.

everyone got different opinion, hope you dont mind i say so.

Yes ma'am MSN and google talk. Unknown why they would not include jabber because Gtalk is jabber protocol.

Now we might compare notes if you are on Rogers and if you can get any billing info by the kb or whatever. On Cingular it is a penny per kbyte and it seems to invariably ring up 2 to 10x the amount that data counter says. It would be interesting to figure out if data counter is off or if Cingular has finger on the scale.

Posted by: Bored&Gorgeous

Not a bad Idea, Lol, I'll let ya know when I get my next bill.

Posted by: phase315

i went on the mig33 site today..and noticed that they said v3.0 supports AIM, do you guys know if this is true?

Posted by: jer12

can you guys post some medical applications for my w810? like a medical drug guide, medical-surgical app, etc.. TY in advance.. Peace!

Posted by: luizpng

AOL is working on mig33. i think they are still upgrading their services. so everything will be going well soon.

an upgrade or updates is the next step to be more advance and stable.

Posted by: sfgadv02

Did anyone get AIM to work in mig33 v3.0? It's always connecting and not logging in, MSN works fine.

Posted by: luizpng

i dont have the account. but can i know the difference between AOL and AIM? is it the same?

i only use yahoo and msn only

Posted by: tszefr

Yes AIM is AOL Instant Messenger. If you don't do aol, go to aim.com (I think) and get yourself an account. You can do email there too and put it in Mobile Email if you feel like.

Posted by: luizpng

thanks. but there is 2 different website. aol and aim. are the 2 login is the same? what i mean here is aim login can use in aol as well?

Posted by: tszefr

Going out on a limb here: Yes. My reasoning is that I just went to aol.com and logged in with my aim screen name. It would appear that in aol land, a screenname is a screenname is a screenname. It gets you mail and aim. Unknown what else.

One little question that a real aol user might be able to answer is what one's email address is. My hunch is that you are screenname@aol.com if you signed up for AOL $ervice. Otherwise you are screenname@aim.com. Does anyone know otherwise?

Posted by: WingZero2309

hmm, technically, couldn't you get unlimited SMS too because you can add mobile numbers to your buddy list on AIM?
also, does Cingular have an unlimited data plan (for fairly cheap)?

Posted by: luizpng

its a littibe bit confusing. i try to register a name with AOL later and have a try. hehehe.

guys thanks for your information. once i have register, i will test it as well as for my mig33. hehehe.

Posted by: H3A7

Is there some unit conversion app available?

Posted by: Blakthorn

i have the free internet with tmobile and opera mini and im having so many troubles with mig33 and aim

anyone know how to get it to work?

I made an account but I have no idea where to go to get to the messaging section..

Posted by: luizpng

hi nuron. yeap. the mig33 application is totally free. there will be only charges on the GPRS/ EDGE/ 3G usage from our local telco.

if you using the chat room or IM (yahoo, etc) all is free.

you can have a look from their websites at:

www.mig33.com

MediaMAX 200. 200 text & unlimited data @ $20.

Okay Got Mig33 now I can use my Yahoo IM on my unlimited TXT plan for free,no data no earth symbol on cell phone. If I go through Media Net I'm charged per kb AND per message.Soo if I use Mig33 instead I can chat all I want through this app w/o being charged anything, even if I get on my MYSpace client right?I just wanna confirm b4 I get in next months phone bill and have 2 sell a kidney!Thanx

Now I am confused. Couple of posts earlier, Luiz reported mig33 uses data but you have it totally using messaging (SMS) for all its chores? Is it configurable or something? I know using SMS is out for me because I have that garbage cut off and blocked in favour of MEdianet unlimited for $15.

So how do we work with no messaging? Very well thank you. S/E mail tool sends and receives all the messages via email to computers and phones. Yahoo Go! is usable but I don't care for it. eBuddy handles all kinds of IM sessions. All done via data sessions with no so-called messaging.

Posted by: liltazie

well unless im wrong migg does cause data usage charges, quite alot one session just 2 set it up cost close 2 10 dollars and when i debraned i lost my yahoo im software can't seem 2 find it anywhere 2 down load it,ebuddy is great but it still takes 4 ever.I caved and got the Data Unlimited but would rally love 2 have my yahoo messenger back in my message folder that think was fast and easy.So if anyone has any idea how 2 load the thing back on it's the only reason i wish i hadn't debranded!

Posted by: tszefr

Lil I didn't catch what phone you are using but I am not sure it matters. Presuming S/E since this is all in S/E forum. If you are longing for Cingular app, either get over it or rebrand your phone and cross fingers. In my experience with 3 S/E phones, 0 were better with Cingular/AT&T firmware. All better with Generic S/E firmware.

The unlimited media net is the way to go, and you don't need messaging because you can do everything via email or IM applet. Depending on the phone, Yahoo Go app may work and of course several others including eBuddy do IM. You may have a "wireless village" or "Friends" app but I have not found viable WV server.
